यूनिक सेलिंग प्रपोजीशन (USP)

USPconcept

Also known as: Unique value proposition; distinctive selling proposition; unique selling point

एक यूनीक सेलिंग प्रपोजिशन (USP) एक ठोस और बचाव योग्य कारण है जिससे एक निश्चित ग्राहक को किसी विकल्प की बजाय एक खास ऑफर चुनना चाहिए।

Technical explanation

A USP translates positioning into a concise claim about a distinctive benefit, capability, proof point, or combination that matters to a target segment. It should identify the relevant customer, frame of reference, promised value, and credible differentiation, then remain consistent across product, sales, and marketing communications.

Business relevance

A clear USP guides messaging, offer design, sales enablement, and prioritisation. It helps teams avoid generic claims and gives buyers a memorable basis for comparison.

Implementation example

A managed-security provider positions its service around verified incident response within 15 minutes, supports the claim with service-level reporting, and uses the same proposition in proposals, landing pages, and onboarding.

Limitations and common misconceptions

A slogan is not automatically a USP. The claim fails when it is irrelevant to customers, easily copied, unsupported by evidence, or inconsistent with the delivered experience.
